Raw materials, their sources, accessibility and acquisition strategy are part of the ancestral knowledge of prehistoric people. This lore is among the wealth of intellectual knowledge of the population. At the same time, the location and accessibility of the raw material sources are, though not eternal but fairly stable; sources can be exploited for basically the same or widely different goals over long period of time.
This lecture will focus on lithic raw material sources and their utilisation over wide temporal scale, mainly from the Carpathian Basin and the Eastern parts of Central Europe.]]>
