26.-28.11.2024: International Colloquium “Cucuteni – 140: Interdisciplinary Framework for Cucuteni-Trypillia Research“

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

We are delighted to invite you to the International Colloquium “Cucuteni – 140: Interdisciplinary Framework for Cucuteni-Trypillia Research,” commemorating the 140th anniversary of the discovery of the eponymous Cucuteni-“Cetăţuie” site.

This event will also honor prominent scholars who have significantly contributed to Cucuteni-Trypillia research and have passed away in the last decade:

  • Volodymyr Kruts (1938-2014)
  • Gheorghe Dumitroaia (1949-2016)
  • Vladyslav Petrenko (1958-2017)
  • Dragomir-Nicolae Popovici (1952-2019)
  • Olena Tsvek (1931-2020)
  • Stanislav Țerna (1984-2020)
  • Vasile Chirica (1943-2021)
  • Serhii Ryzhov (1949-2022)
  • Silvia Marinescu-Bîlcu (1935-2023)
  • Nicolae Ursulescu (1943-2023)
  • Linda Ellis (1956-2023)

The colloquium will be held at the Cucuteni Eneolithic Art Museum “Gheorghe Dumitroaia” in Piatra-Neamţ, Romania, from November 26th to 28th, 2024, in a hybrid format, allowing both in-person and online participation.
